A Note from Jamie O’Reilly

Last weekend I launched the Roots Thrive Program Series, a new enterprise for Roots Salon, the creative development and gathering space in Chicago’s Lincoln Square where I present Soirees, Concerts, Workshops, Art Exhibits, and now a Master Speakers Series, to an invited, select audience. It’s my seventh year as Salonniere and I am quite excited about bringing community together and celebrating artists in this intimate way. The Master Speakers Series events are show and tell evenings presented by dynamic pros, whose career specialties in the arts and humanities have a core connection to Chicago culture.

Monica Rogers

Food writer Monica Rogers kicks The Series off with a cooking demo (and tasting) in my new kitchen on Nov 23. (More:lostrecipesfound.com). On December 7, fav Chicagoan Rick Kogan talks about Journalism.

The Roots Salon fall music line-up starts with a “As I was saying while you were singing,” a song and spoken-word infused evening with singing from Beau O’Reilly, and spoken-word from fellow musicians Jenny Magnus,Troy Martin, and Matt Test. Storytellers Judith Harding and Jim Joyce join in. Sat. Sept 28 at 8 PM.

In the Consulting & Coaching arena, new to my artist roster is writer Zoe Keithley. Zoe is now published on Kindle. She offers workshops and editing services. Zoe will be one of our Master Speakers for Roots Thrive in April. Read about Zoe here.
