Jamie O’Reilly and Michael Smith bring their annual Christmas offering The Gift of
the Magi to Evanston SPACE Sunday, December 18 at 2 PM. O. Henry’s beloved
story will be narrated by WGN Radio Host Rick Kogan, accompanied by Smith’s original songs: Americana-style waltzes, fox trots, a soft shoe, gypsy melodies, love duets, and gorgeous instrumentals.
Favorite carols will be performed by a fine musical ensemble led by Smith on guitar, with Peter Swenson: guitar, Bob Weber: cello, June Shellene: piano, Lily Floeter: flute and Al Ehrich: bass.
Vocals are performed by O’Reilly and Smith, and also feature Nia O’Reilly-Amandes and Patrick Cannon (as “Jim” and “Della”).
