ABOUT WILLA
Born in California, Willa Moore rambled the west, east and midcoasts: a fish monger, shrimp picker, bartender, factory girl, reporter, surfer, singer/songwriter/poet and music therapist working for many years with Elders in the startling world of nursing homes. A grant from the American Composers Forum honored her songs and community service and sponsored her first album Black Sea of Love. She recently released a second album Griffith Park, of which one Chicago reviewer wrote:

Willa has performed her poems and songs at many reputable and otherwise Chicago venues including: The Green Mill, Heartland Café, Old Town School of Folk Music, Prop Theater, Sylvies on Irving Park, The Grafton, Cullens, and several of well-known Chicago salonnière Jamie O’Reilly’s soirees in Lincoln Square. As TallGrass Writers Guild Featured Author on March 22, she will share a spirited, offbeat investigation of love, war, nursing homes, surfing, God and the John Deere combine.
