Jamie O’Reilly and Michael Smith, (with John Abbey on bass) present their latest musical offering, Songs of a Catholic Childhood Spring Showcase, a heartfelt, hilarious and liberating musical journey. The beloved musical team presents a range of personal stories and songs: from folk songs and hymns to Mary, to pub songs and Leonard Cohen, to a nostalgic tribute to Catholic icons of film.
Through this personal and profound portrait of the America of the 40’s, 50s, and 60s – Michael as the oldest of six in the working class Irish/Italian neighborhoods of post WWII New Jersey; Jamie as a Baby-Boomer, and middle kid, in a huge artistic family, in a small Illinois town – they celebrate the wonder of childhood and the wisdom of our years.
Chief O’Neill’s Pub and Restaurant offers special dinner and dessert packages in the lovely dining room. Seating is limited. Groups accepted. Street parking. Five minutes from the Kennedy Expressway, near Addison.
