A Note from Michael
I was born on the same day of the month as Peter Lawford, which means I will never feel quite as handsome, suave and well-dressed as I might be, and Buddy Holly, which makes me feel grateful every year that I am not more talented and prematurely dead. There is a beautiful song about my month written by Maxwell Anderson and Kurt Weill. I think September 7th is an awfully poetic birthday to have and I hope to continue having it for some time. Also it’s this year a lovely evening to play the Wishbone, run superbly by Miki Greenberg, where I’ll do my Moby Dick songs, made from the beautiful prose of my collaborator Herman Melville. Come hear me. Hey, the days dwindle down, you know. OK bye.
